Conscious Capitalism Conference Boston 2012

Conscious Business, Conscious Capitalism, Conscious Leadership, Current Affairs, Louise Mowbray, Organisational Development

What an incredible week at the 4th annual Conscious Capitalism Conference in Boston.  Speakers included John Mackey, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Whole  Foods Market, Raj Sisodia, author of Firms of Endearment (if you haven’t read this, you really should, now), Karambir Singh Kang, GM Taj Boston, the Tata Group (he was GM of the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai during a terrible terrorist attack), Michael Gelb, celebrated author and personality of note, Chip Conley, Founder, Joie de Vivre, Jenne Britell, Chairman of the Board, United Rental, Scott Minerd, CIO/Managing Partner, Guggenheim Partners and Peter F Drucker – “Culture eats Strategy for Breakfast”.  And I haven’t even started on the rich cacophony from the academic world!

And back to London meeting a friend for lunch and I came across Great Workplaces – Great places to Work –  Special Report 2012.  A Great Place to Work Institute has 3 requirements for a great workplace – employees must trust management, take pride in their roles and enjoy working with their colleagues.  In their publication, they list the top 25 Best Workplaces 2012  in the UK.

With political and business leaders around the world talking about moral and ethical capitalism I really do think it’s time to take note and to take action.
