Have you read the Wikipedia definition of Conscious Leadership? Is there more to this than that? Wow, two big questions and what I am really proposing is a call to action, NOW. Add your two cents, two pence now please. Even if it is the Wimbledon final today – plenty of time between now and 3pm. Here’s the link.
I hope Wimbledon treats you well ;-)
Hi Louise,
Good call. I read the entry on Wiki and, while I think the authors are excellent at marketing themselves and their work (and have some really good ideas), I think there is something fundamentally missing. I believe conscious leadership is not just about knowing your story in greater and greater detail – i.e. what your beliefs are and changing these – but actually transcending your story, transcending want is in your mind. It is about operating outside of the habitual ways our mind works, and this includes beliefs. Just changing your beliefs gets you so far towards different thoughts and action. Transcending beliefs, realizing that even these are simply things we cling on to, and experiencing the freedom outside of limitation boundary that exists and enables us to choose who we want to be – this is for me what true conscious leadership is about. With leaders coming from this place, imagine the possibilities they can bring to the way business is conducted? Fewer Libor scandals, fewer transparency surprises: more integrity, authenticity, choicefulness; less reaction and selfish action based on self-survival.
Best,
Gina
Thank you Gina, I totally agree. And as the topic is emerging and results are being seen, really believe that this key point, that of transcending beliefs is a vital one to be made. And now the how to do it! Can’t wait for your book :-)
